Well...I didn't exactly make it California yesterday. My dad is in the hospital. He's been sick for a few years with diverticulitis and in June of last year had surgery which resulted in a colostomy. I'm traveling to CA on Monday and will need a good book to read. I don't want anything too smutty, scary or mindless. My last trip I read "The Twentieth Wife" by Indu Sundaresan (which I highly recommend). It's a fictional story based on imperial Indian history. Well, I signed up with LiveJournal a couple of weeks ago and then got really busy. I gave my current employer two week's notice and I start a new job on Monday. I'm really excited for this new adventure. I'm going to work for a very small consulting firm in California. I'll be staying in Missouri though and working from home and traveling. I'm so happy today - Baseball's opening day - at least for us in St. Louis. I'm at work, working from a laptop in one of the conference rooms, watching the Cardinals play the Brewers. How great is this? I love the boys of summer...can't wait to get to a game.
