Surprised?

The reveal is up for the sshg_exchange so I can finally reveal what I wrote this time around.

My fic Breathe that I wrote for timestep  was an absolute joy to write, though when I initially wrote it I was afraid it was total crap.  It took the combined efforts of Shug, SLogic and Kel to talk me down from my ledge that I was threatening to jump from when I turned it in ( Read more... )

It was a stunning fic. The scene, action all were so authentic, I knew a nurse had been involved in the writing. It is something so few non-medical people can portray. brava

I really think that a peaceful death is such a gift to be able to witness. I have seen so many of those, and its just amazing how good it makes you feel for the entire family. If I portrayed just a little of that emotion, I'm happy.

Thank you! And I thought that the gift you did for Subversa was absolutely, positively amazing! Beautiful work!

I know! I'm serious about you talking me down from a figurative ledge. It was just sooooo different from anything else I've ever written that I couldn't objectively see if it was crap or not.

(I did go back a couple of weeks ago and re-read it and was actually pretty happy with the piece. Amazing what a little time and distance can do for you!)

And you were right, I could NOT have been happier with my gift from Foxestacado! Happy Birthday to me! :D

Thank you!

I'm a fluffy bunny/hurt and comfort kind of gal usually. I really had no perspective when I wrote it, so it was hard to tell if it was any good. I'm so happy you enjoyed it!

I think you might be right. It's just hard to judge when you're too close to the story, but it definitely made me "feel" something.

I just wasn't sure if the feeling was happiness that I translated my vision to the page, or if it was simple discomfort because I didn't quite get it right. I went back and re-read it three months later and actually thought it was some of my better work.

And that brought up a whole other set of discomfort, but I am never usually happy with my stuff.

Thank you so much! I feel a little odd - it makes me happy that I made people cry! I might actually post this one to an archive. :)

You know, I always have great plans for cleaning up my fics and posting them to an archive, but I never follow through. I didn't post the last Exchange fic I wrote anywhere else:

Home - http://community.livejournal.com/sshg_exchange/79878.html

and I posted the first two chapters of my three chapter fic for the previous Exchange to TPP. I just never did post the last chapter:

The Beauty of Grace - http://sshg-mod.livejournal.com/11038.html

Ah well...this one might get to an archive. I just get busy doing other stuff and forget about them. :)

I enjoyed writing this story so much, but it was soooo different, I just didn't know if anyone would like it or not.

*glomps you back for your amazing stories and amazing reviews*
