Head-canon and Thor status

Feb 05, 2011 22:48

This post is going to help me keep track of all the head-canon I end up inventing, as well as Irene's jobs and rooms on the Thor. Just so that I keep my story straight.

*Ever under construction!

- Her birthday is March 23, 1858.

- Irene dreamed about her last role as a prima donna on the Warsaw stage. Thanks to a site with very interesting insights, I've decided to make this my head canon.
She played the role of Leonore, of the opera 'Fidelio'. The part required her to sing two levels above her usual range, and she damaged her voice. She recovered enough that she could still sing in concerts and such (as in Scandal), but never enough to return to the roles she loved.

- According to "The New Annotated Sherlock Holmes", here are some other parts she may have played:
Adalgisa of Bllini's Norma (La Scala, December 26, 1831 premiere)
Amneris of Verdi's Aida (Cairo, December 12, 1871 premiere)
Azucena of Verdi's Il Trovatore (Rome, January 19, 1853 premiere)
Maddalena of Verdi's Rigoletto (Venice, March 11, 1851 premiere)
Orfeo in Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice (Vienna, October 5, 1762 premiere)
Arsace in Rossini's Semiramide (Venice, February 3, 1823 premiere)
Maffo Orsini in Donizetti's Lucrezia Borgia (Milan, December 26, 1833 premiere)
Urbain the page in Meyerbeer's Les Hugenots (Paris, February 29, 1836 premiere)
Siebel in Gounod's Faust (Paris, March 19, 1859 premiere)
Stephano in Gounod's Romeo et Juliette (Paris, April 27, 1867 premiere)
Pieretto in Donizetti's Linda di Chamounix (Vienna, May 19, 1842 premiere)

It is speculated that Holmes might have even seen Irene at least once in performance - most likely Les Hugenots, although the events in 'Hound of the Baskervilles' are usually dated well after 'Scandal in Bohemia'.

- There has been much speculation at why exactly Irene and Holmes would have had a room at the Royal together, and what happened there. OOC Irene dropped that there might have been a pinwheel and a feather involved...

- Irene is not a killer, but she does have pickpocketing down to something of a science. (Unless her target happens to be Sherlock). She'd rather use her charm to get more out of it if possible, though!

- She has taken a permanent job at the most high-class (human!) theater she could find. Despite her impressive resume, it will take some time for her to gain fuller roles.

- When she first arrived she stole borrowed a book of the Sherlock Holmes stories from Holmes. It was a very excellent read, offering her a new perspective on the detective.

- She has a lamp in her room that can go very dim, because the bright electric lights tend to hurt her eyes. She'd very much like an oil lamp, but things that use fire are hard to come by on a star ship for some reason.

- She's a cat person.

- When she arrived on the Thor she had a small traveling bag that she was carrying with her on the train. Inside was the last of the walnuts, a small bottle of Parisian perfume, and some other odds and ends that I haven't decided yet.

- Her favourite fruit is pear. Followed closely by strawberry and blueberry.

- During her conversation with Sherlock on the Sif *, the topic of drugs came up. I could not quite fit this into my tag, but I wanted to keep it.
[A slight thought, ephemeral as a wisp of smoke came and went from her mind. In that fraction of time she wondered: if he slipped in again, if he might take her with him.]

- She's a very flirty drunk. And a certain type of alien wine she once tried got her very drunk, very quickly.

- Terms of endearment: She's got a few people pegged out with special ones.
Holmes: Dear (but in a different tone than everyone else gets, thank you.)
John: My dear; tesoro mio (Italian: my treasure). Yes, she is possessive. Tesoro mio she feels is a bit more intimate, and she might not use it often. (She hasn't even explained to John what the meaning is yet. >.>)
Sherlock: Sir; Mister Sherlock.
Lien: Chéri (French: dearie)
Rikku: Ma mie (French: my female friend, contracted from 'mon amie')
Castiel: Mister Castiel, but also (although only in her mind thus far) gentile angelo (Italian: dear angel)
Ezio: Gentilissimo (Italian: gentleman)
Aziraphale: Gentile angelo (Italian: dear angel) [When he was de-aged to 5, she used angioletto (Italian: little angel)]
Midii Une: Petite chéri (French: Little dearie)
Others she will often address with a Mr. or Miss, or with 'dear'.

Room February 5 2011-July 2011 - 3-36
July 2011 - present - 6-9

Job February 20 2011-permament - Opera singer/actress; at the most high-end human-run theater she could find Royal Oak Theater Company.

February 20-April 30 "The Joy of the Family Who Lives" (a dramatic family drama * showed April 21-30. Chorus, Minimum Degree Wage *

May 1-July 20 "A Dozen Coloured Leaves" (a fanciful comedy with a bit of a twist) will open July 8th. Minor role, Minimum Degree Wage

July 20- August 31 "The Sorcerer". Mid-role (), Somewhat Decent Wage. Was in charge of 5 extra hires.

September 1- December Hansel and Gretel; Secondary role (Gingerbread Witch), Somewhat Decent->College Degree Wage

Salvage March 2011 - From her four days of Sigrun salvage, Irene recovered items and credits equivalent to a month's worth of high wages (College degree 'or so', perhaps dependent on who she can sell the items off to). *

Informant June 2011 - Took a job as a Sky Soldier informant against the pirates. Under disguise sold her items from the Sigrun to the pirates to get her information, then acquired the assistance of Balthier, Ezio and Xigbar to steal it all back, plus some. The morning after the thefts, the Soldiers moved in to make their arrests. (Convenient, that.)
Got minimum degree wage from the job, the money from selling her items, and the items themselves plus some other various small souvenirs.

Police Officer September 2011 - She wasn't aiming for this one, but it was equally as amusing. The highlight was getting Holmes as her 'police dog'. A touch demeaning for him, but still...

Enthusiastic Announcer November 2011 - ...

status, head canon
