yes! zingers! what a load of bullshit. since mine are still small and flipping around, if i get into downward facing dog, i can usually lift him off my cervix enough for some relief. i don't know if that would work as well for your bigger baby, though. they do take your breath away, don't they?
are "birth plans" a big thing in france? we are writing one, of course, at the suggestion of our doula, but she said to keep it under 1 page -- frankly, that was a relief for me, as i was not looking forward to thinking of every possible "path less taken" and deciding how i feel about them all. i have yet to write it, though.
Damn, I had something all written out and then lj had to go and do some sort of emergency maintenance.
My Zinger Reduction Method involves a sort of modified child's pose. I take a stack of pillows (all of my pillows these days) or Martin and rest my chest on them/him. This way my back is vertically straight and it feels like I'm laying on my tummy. I extend my arms and turn my head to the side, then spread my legs while folded, enough for the belly to hang down freely. I actually started doing this earlier in pregnancy for sciatic pains, and later for back problems. It seems to be my go-to cure-all pose for pain :-) I mostly prefer this to downward facing dog because I can hold it for longer, even take a little cat nap like this. It really relaxes my body!!! But, as you know, you can't really do this sitting in the office or walking down the street :D
Here's a pic of what I mean, only imagine more pillows :-)
hmm, we have done that kind of modified childs pose in prenatal yoga but i guess i didnt know it helped with sciatic pain (which i have a lot of) or i would have done it more often!
i would be interested to read your plan, if you don't mind sharing. do you have my email address? it is skirtmuseum@gmail.com

Glad to hear all is well. I just read about GDF -- I trust that is taken care of?
