I was busy looking around the café crowded with young people like him and me , and turned to answer him, when he looked at the impatient waiter and ordered two cappuccino's. I opened my mouth to say something and immediately decided against it. I continued to say nothing and be the person in awe of our relationship

It's good to learn to stand up for yourself and assert. And yes, it can happen too much in that direction too, but you sound like you're doing OK.

Even though it may seem a relatively normal thing to do , there are days it seems like a daunting task to do .... standing up for myself....standing against people who are important to me .... Cheers .... thanks for reading

This is beautiful and hopeful, and has me a bit misty-eyed, because I can totally relate. I have been in that place where I just let other people call all the shots for me, because I always had.

Thankfully, when I started my relationship with my husband, I had reached a point where I was like NO MORE, and started on a basis where things like ordering for me, making decisions for me, etc, would not be acceptable, and we have a very healthy, stable relationship.

But it's the first one in my entire life that has been. :P

I really love the use of the prompt here, and especially the way you ended it. So satisfying and cathartic to watch you stand up for yourself and make your own wishes known. Lovely work!
