The First Time

" Coffee or Tea " , he asked me. I was busy looking around the café crowded with young people like him and me , and turned to answer him, when he looked at the impatient waiter and ordered two cappuccino's. I opened my mouth to say something and immediately decided against it. I continued to say nothing and be the person in awe of our relationship ( Read more... )

I learned through experience that the dream killers aren't whole time employees of Dream Killing Incorporated.
I love this line. It's so true. Most of the time they don't even realize what they've done.

Exactly ...... so what I try and do is adapt myself to be unaffected .....works sometumes and doesbt at other times. And thats where new traps have to be identified ..... to keep me afloat.

bI love your use of imagery. I also love how very honest you are in your writing. The more you can tell the story that is uniquely yours, or the unique story of whomever you're writing about, the richer your writing will be.

I feel a little unsure about how asking the waiter for orange juice is a trap. I understand that it's a big step (and wonder if talking about that in relation to dealing with friends or family--is it easier or harder?) and I understand how it's something new, but if it's a trap, who is it a trap for?

Please let me know if you don't wish for this kind of feedback. smile....

Hey ..... thank u for the feedback ..... I do appreciate that someone is reading and am always up for a discussion on it. The traps in my entry refer to traps set out to capture my personal demons , the habits or things about me that tend to bring me down emotionally or physically. I am still too timid to lay out traps for others hehe. As regards the cafe trap .... I have always been the kind to avoid controversies and confrontations, would rather do things to make people happy thinking I would be happy that way. And then I realised its not upto us to make others happy . Its each one for himself in that regard. I grew up not letting people around me what I wanted and everyone kept doing things THEY PRESUMED I WANTED. I just learnt a bit late that I need to say what i feel and need .... And that sometimes saying a No is more satisfying than saying a Yes. Started with the waiter wt the cafe ..... :) so as of now all traps are for myself , some in a social background , some on a personal level, some emotional and some physical even ( ... )

Good for you. Keep laying your traps. I know it isn't always easy, but I hope you find it rewarding.
