I know I'm only making it worse by complaining, but . . .

British Lit. is overwhelming and stressful. I hate it when teachers aren't clear about the guidelines and due dates for papers until the day before they are due.  For example, Ryder told us we'd have a "poem emulation" assignment along with a paper explaining the connection between our original poems and the poems in the anthology due in the third ( Read more... )

I just annotated them and stuck the papers in my journal, and she said that was okay.
Also, she's not collecting the poem journal with the essay tomorrow because we only did two entries. And the poem quiz was easy.
And (yes, there's more), we read the first two scenes of The Glass Menagerie (I'm too lazy to underline that . . .) in class. Other than that, we haven't been doing much.
Okay, I hope your family's doing better and I'll see you sooooooon. :]

You aren't being selfish. It doesn't make sense to be grateful for something you don't want. Be grateful for your intelligence and determination to get into a school like UCLA, not the school itself.
