ooo.. is this prompted by my most recent ask-a-Laurel query? I totally plan on getting Kass' Elizabethan common woman's pattern at Pennsic, but I won't be able to get it in time just now. I do own the Italian Ren "Fruitseller" pattern and just finished my second dress from it today. Love it!

Not specifically, but it will be a much better option than you presented earlier. The Kass Army is helping to get their search engine ranking back up. Feel free to post a link on your blog as well.

The hose pattern is awesome and even fits my gargantuan calves with no modification.

Hey! *I* have gargantuan calves! I should check out this hose pattern of which you speak!

As for the bodice I asked you about, I do appreciate the input. I knew the pattern wouldn't be 100% correct, but it seemed the less offensive out of all the commercial patterns.... and I need clothes for Pennsic, dammit! ;-)

Since I just finished my second Italian dress made from her pattern, I shall post about it soon and link to her site.

The fundamental problem with the modern patterns is that they're helping you to create a costume rather than clothing. Modern clothing generally conforms to the body rather than the other way around. The concept that you would make a bodice and not create a specific space for the boobs to be in is so not a modern mindset. Our underwear does the pushing up these days.
