I've started quilting. The first one has been going together without too much fuss. I just need to bind it and it's done. It's alot heavier than I thought it would be. I had it draped across my bare legs last night and it kept the chill away no problem. I think I can produce them fast enough to be able to sell them and make a decent profit. My ( Read more... )

For my dear husband, I am making a cloak and some clothing (in that order) for him to wear. He's vaguely Elizabethan (because that's what I make him), so I decided to make a semi-circular cloak for him to wear. (Although he would protest that he's a 13th c Norman...)

Despite it's name, the Twinfit dummy is not even remotely similar to me, even with the measurements dialed in. I just don't go it at the waist. However, it's close enough for govt work and to serve as a rough approximation. Here are more photos:

Here's a pic of the partlet I'm working on. I have since finished sewing down the collar, but the pic was taken in the throes of sewing last night. It will need to be starched a bit, but I love how it turned out.

So last week I made an a-line kirtle out of this cool wool I have with a herringbone pattern. I originally cut it waaay too big, so I cut it down to be more reasonable.
