  Bad news : I've been working OMFG hours for the past three weeks.

Good news : My paycheck was such that when I checked my bank account this morning, I actually swore in shock of how much it was.

Mind, when you usually make around 300$ a paycheck, it doesn't take that high of an amount of money to do that, but still. I hit a new high.

Well bugger. Woke up this morning ( or more accurately, didn't sleep through last night ) with what looked like pinkeye. I work at a daycare -- it's not the first time, nor will it be the last. But it hurt a bit more then usual, and was very photosensitive, so I dragged my butt to the nice Minute Clinic, because I figured I'd at least get a note ( Read more... )

  It's become a bit of a joke by this point. Because we're a school for children with disabilities, we have therapists on staff who work with our kids in ST, OT, and PT ( speech, occupational, and physical therapy ). They often grab the kids from the classroom, or come in the classroom to check who is present. So they see a lot ( Read more... )

  Yesterday, in a continuation of the week of allowing-my-students-to-do-messy-things , we painted with our feet. As I expected it to be an absolute disaster, I was pleasantly surprised when it was only a small disaster. This was accomplished mainly through pre-planning and judicious applications of packing tape ( Read more... )

  So for those who may have missed it, we're building a new school.

Back up. I work at a charter school for young children with and without disabilities. Up until last year, we went up to pre-k ; last year we added kindergarten. We're currently located in a storefront facility that's really, really tiny.
