...Hmm, interesting wank. I wish everyone had answered her in exactly 100 words.
Although I actually agree with some of what the OP said. I would never say drabble writing was less valid as a form, but the shortness of the requirement means that many people do seem toss off complete crap and call it a drabble, whereas the plot, planning and length requirements of fic do seem to discourage some of the asshats.
Its kind of like how everyone thinks they can write poetry >_<
On the other hand, I know of several people who specialize in writing restricted prose very artfully, and put a lot of time into it, with impressive results.
The replies did seem a little reactionary. I don't think this person intended to insult all of drabbledom.
Oh, yeah. I think people have just heard the "you could write so much better" argument-- especially fanficcers-- that there's a knee-jerk (and not totally unjustified!) reaction.
"Huh," Koryuu said, in that 'I'm not impressed' tone he reserved for things that surprised or pleased him. A tone like that is just like him, isn't it?
I like drabbles a lot. They were the reason I joined LJ way back (to comment in wk_100). XD It's just a matter of writing them well! :P Bad fics and bad drabbles are equally horrible and vice versa.
Sorry for the short comment. Need sleep, longer sentences not possible right now. x_x
