I am not a dyke. Regardless of what people seem to think. I am quite comfortably straight. I'm sick of being asked if I'm a lesbian/dyke/butch/whatever-other-term-you-want-to-substitute-to-mean-"not-straight

hahaha, i run into that too. more so in high school, like you. i had two really close female friends that were, of course, my lesbian lovers. but it always catches me off guard when strangers think i'm a guy. it happens now that i have short hair. it's just weird. i generally don't think i look like a guy. but don't be more feminine. adhering to gender stereotypes is nooo good. make everyone else feel stupid instead.
The only reason I've found that it occurred more in high school is that in college, no one cares all that much. I am me, and that is just fine. But that just doesn't fly here. Adhering to gender stereotypes is not good, but neither is decreased self-esteem due to public confusion. Where's the balance? I think of it more as practice with acting. I am merely acting a feminine role. Or I could go for full-out androgyny and really mess with people when they can't figure it out. ..and would this be a certain Goshen Chelsea that I love oh-so-much?
OOh, yes. I have my livejournal set to send a notification to my facebook, just so anyone who pays attention will be able to read my writings. I'd rather do it here than on 'notes' or something.
