This weekend.
A minor computer crisis averted. My laptop's been doing a slow limp to the scrapheap for a while now, and the hard drive finally packed up last week (thankfully it gave me quite a bit of warning so I was able to grab most things off it), but my dad managed to get a hard drive from a work computer so it's back up and running.

Blue smarties, get 'em before they're gone.
Since the people who make smarties have decided that making children hyper is a bad thing, they're disappearing. I was making smartie cookies earlier this week, and new non-artifically flavoured smarties are slightly dull looking. Though the smartie cookies were still pretty good.

Everything seems to have slowed down
I think my laptop is slowly falling apart. This morning I couldn't get it to boot up as the battery has now completely given up. Screws keep falling out of it and only one of the fans work. I have a feeling it is finally going to die at the most inopportune time. -
Random Bob
I've just discovered that more than one person (er other than me) lists Random Bob as an interest. Need to find things to do.
I think I've hit that point at which I've been unemployed slightly too long. I've reached the part were I've been off long enough that I've run out of obvious things to do, but not long enough that I've come up with unobvious things to do (though I did spend much of this afternoon taking apart a skirt so I can turn it in to another skirt ( Read more... ) -
I have really hot knees
I'm reconsidering pet ownership in the near future, as much as I love the cat, I don't love getting up at 6.15am to let him out, or trying to get tablets down him every evening (parents are on holiday for the week and he has an ear infection, hence tablets, and so can't go the cattery).

See, five minutes of sunshine and I'm complaining...
While the heat given off by a laptop is useful in January...in Manchester...in a student house with no heating, it's not so useful right now!

So hot...
Putting flatpack furniture together in 30 degree weather is not a good idea.
But it's pretty much done now, and I no longer have a bed up by the ceiling, and a falling apart lime green and lilac wardrobe. -
Ikea on a Sunday is insane!
It's June so it must be time for the yearly sort through the huge amounts of junk I seem to keep accumulating. I thought I'd avoid it this year (since I haven't had to drag it halfway down the country) but unfortunately not ( Read more... )
