Wow, I think if I had been a mother I would have called in and complained if I had heard that my kid watched something like that. Sounds like typical scientist biased.
I will admit that there are some Christians who are jerks like that, but not all of us are like that. Actually, the most intolerant person when it came to religion I know is this atheist guy I used to work with. He sent me this seriously long letter complaining about how I was being an ignorant morons for believing in God and basically that all Christians are stupid. Kind of bugged me since I never bothered him about his beliefs. I blocked his posts on facebook and I never talk to him anymore. Not worth it. >_But anyway, as I'm trying to point out, ignorance can come from both sides. It kind of annoys me when movies like that try to make out Christians as the bad guys, and vice versa
( ... )
haha XD; one of my classmates had to give a speech about the topic and I have to admit that this movie really underlined the scientific point of view.
I know that not all Christians are like that. I never intended to generalize it like that, I'm really sorry if I offended you in any way! This intolerance... I hate it. Even if I'm an atheist, I still tolerate those who believe in God. Why shouldn't I? asdfghj ;_;
Yeah, I know that this ignorance can be found on both sides. I was talking about my personal point of view here - not about all atheists. I know that there are many people who even discriminate Christians, Muslims, Hindus and any other kind of religious people and I hate it. I hate this intolerance.
This is really interesting indeed. But I think my classmate also spoke about this, I'm not sure actually - that movie made me too angry XD: People are stupid sometimes. Really.
Holy crap, just because a person doesn't believe in God then s/he's a Satanist. How close-minded.
I for one, believe in the existence of God; but then again I'm not a really religious person either. Yes, Adam was created, however that time, I believe that he wasn't already a "modern" human. There were fossils of hominoids and primitives... these are a proof of it. So I think humans had evolved, and are still evolving. dshfksd why am I rambling about this anyway orz
I just wish people could be more tolerant. Seriously, religions are supposed to teach their believers to bring peace. Duh.
Yeah, great, right? orz" what kind of logic is that.
You remind me of that evangelic point of view that was presented there. That man also said that both the Creation Myth and the Evolution Theory have to be put together (asdfgh I forgot the words he used to describe this) and that both theories can't be ignored or something like that (asdfghh that intolerant point of view made me forget everything else ;__; orz") ♥
I wish for that, too. I hate this intolerance, I don't understand why everyone is fighting over religion and stuff. Argh.
I talked about this topic with a friend of mine during Religion studies just yesterday. Actually it was just a discussion, but somehow we ended up debating because my friend forced his idea that the evolution theory was wrong and that those who believe in it were people who got misled.
I myself believe that both theories can be put together (and should have been), which means Adam and Eve didn't necessarily have to be humans we know today. Like griomorio had stated--yes, they were still mankind, but not modern humans like us. I don't know how to put it.
I believe in both God and science, as inconsistent as it may sound. And in my opinion, both religion and science can blend in together. Or, at least, try to be tolerant and respect each other. Stay silent is much better than talk bad.
Also, don't worry--not believing in God doesn't instantly make you a Satanist! It's just stupid people who would say that.

I don't get it, either. This dispute is just stupid.
