cooking food you would in the US is surprisingly challenging when abroad, but those (almost) homely flavors are quite comforting & empowering. that & your spice rack is more diverse than mine is here in the US. :P
glad you got your phone back & it wasn't too pricey. the gold phone will be missed by me though. i don't envy that sub job, so hopefully you won't have to go back there anytime soon.
Well, it doesn't have to be too diverse in the US. If you want Mexican food or Italian food or pizza or Chinese you can just go to a restaurant. I miss Mexican food the most, I think.
I got a call yesterday saying the new person is starting this week and I'm SAFE! =D I know I could have gotten an extra day's pay but the awkward was just so damn strong. =/
That's why i'm actually glad now that the shops here are normally open to like 6-7pm at night...cos I work until 5pm....and sometimes on Saturday and Sunday I can't be bothered going to the store. Looks like your collection is going well, now the problem will be if you need "fresh" herbs like fresh coriander or something.
Oh, yeah. coriander/cilantro I have found all of once. And it was glorious. And I have not seen it since. I'm trying to grow fresh herbs but I have a black thumb and I keep killing them. =X

I'm glad to hear that you've got your phone back, and don't have to return to the bad sub gig.
