Ianto moved closer to Jack’s desk. Despite the rage Ianto could feel radiating of Jack, he leaned over the desk, resting his fists on surface to get further towards him.
“Rose was not in jeopardy down there. She is in more jeopardy being left longer and longer without someone doing something to save her!”
“Fine then, let’s do something now!” Jack stormed out of his office and went straight over to Rose.
“Rose, we are doing this now.”
“What, Jack no we haven’t got a plan.” Owen protested, sitting up in his chair.
“Sorry, I thought you were the one that wanted this sorted.” Jack pointed at Owen. “Anyway, I’ve got a plan.”
“I’ve already told you Jack, I’m not doing anything.”
“You haven’t got a choice anymore, we have to get this fog out of you now. We’ll knock you out, we know that the fog is able to talk directly to us when you aren’t conscious.”
“Jack, we can’t put her under again.” Owen shook his head, he knew medically it would be unsafe, but with all the technology, he knew it was also possible and that’s what Jack was thinking.
“And you are defiantly not kissing her again.” Chris piped up, he had been sitting quietly on the tatty sofa, watching the conversation from everyone around him.
“I won’t let you do this.” Rose spoke again, her calm voice reaching Jack’s temper.
“Jack, maybe she’s right, maybe we can just let this alien go. It’s only one and well, it’s not hurting her or affecting her. Let’s just leave it ok?” Gwen stepped beside Jack, placing her hand on his arm. “If Rose was in any pain, she would have said. Wouldn’t you?” She nodded towards Rose.
“It wouldn’t cause me pain, it’s comfortable in me. I don’t want you removing it. The fog is part of me now.”
“How do we know that’s not the fog just saying that? We don’t know what it is doing to you. It may be blocking out signals or creating or changing different feelings.”
“It wouldn’t do that!” Rose snapped back. “Can’t it just stay? It’s not doing me harm or anyone else.”
Jack looked around at the rest of the team, finally settling on Chris. He sighed as he looked back at Rose, “let us run the tests again, once we can be sure that nothing is going on, not before that, we shall see if you can leave. Only if I’m happy with the results.”
Tosh moved back to her computer, picking out any of the previous information of Rose’s body scans and spreading them over the screens in front of her. Owen slid back on his chair before getting up and walked to the autopsy bay, Jack followed him, speaking quietly to him before walking back up the stairs and heading for his office.
Ianto and Gwen moved to the autopsy room, they settled leaning against the rail and watching Owen pull out of the necessary equipment.
