Late Summertime in the Time of Covid 2 - Delta Variant
I stumbled upon this place last summer whilst roaming the hinterlands w/FMY. 'Twas too early then (July) to do more than enjoy the sampler garden (plenty to see even there). A Return to the Columbia Gorge
Thank goodness it's cooling off some now. My previous visit to the Columbia Gorge, before it got too danged hot - not to mention overrun by tourists/crowds - took place on 17 May 2021. Rain, Glorious Rain!
Woke up to rain this morning! Summer's not dead and gone yet, but hints of Fall have come. Breezes of an evening have a snap to 'em. More and more days include good solid overcast times. I'd hoped to feel accomplished this afternoon, but instead feel aggravated. Rather than feeling satisfied with myself for finally getting off my duff to do the final thing, I'm massively annoyed as it appears that the thing didn't need doing after all, which I don't really believe in my bones. Making Lemonade Out Of Lemons
After learning that the Portland Japanese Garden's irises had begun blooming, I made reservations for this afternoon, the coolest day of the next 10 days. Even allowing extra time, we made it about 10 minutes late due to traffic from several construction projects and three (3) separate police incidents along the way. Beating the Heat
Yesterday's forecast of 96 for PDX convinced me to go Westward to beat the heat. The past yearplus I've only visited the Northern part of the Oregon coast, all spots between Astoria and Cape Lookout State Park outside Tillamook. Now that fully vax'd status exists and activity restrictions've begun to ease, I've begun dipping my toes back into Life As It Was in the Before Times. Realizing now though that I need to keep my newly awakened socializing & traveling schedule less frantic/bizzy than sometimes.

Feeling Myself Again
YayPhew! Oh, it's so good to feel like me again.
