I am reading a book called The Time Traveler's Wife because it's sad, and about love and time, and I've read it before and think I'm going to feel better once I finish it.

I love the Time Traveler's Wife and have re-read it many times... precisely because it is sad yet somehow it makes me feel better after reading it. go figure.

It makes me feel better about losing someone I love because when I am 82 they will appear in my sun room for maybe 5 minutes.

I guess it makes me feel better because it makes me believe that love exists and points out what people will do for each other if they love one another. and that if you love one another, it becomes hard to doubt.

and that part I never really liked. I am sure as hell not waiting around for 50 years to see someone again, I would just move the fuck on. but I like what they mean to each other before that.

It's absurdly racist, too, which was really weird. I was all set for a great love story, and then all of a sudden the alarms were going off in my head, "WARNING, WARNING, RACIST STEREOTYPES." I'm not sure why she thought that was necessary, or what her editor was thinking. But I finished it last night and it was very satisfying. I don't even think I cried at all! And then I watched the movie this morning and it was dumb. Oh well.
