Sanity or Lack Thereof: Tell Me About Your Characters

Aug 24, 2010 22:11

So guys. I cannot stress this enough: Delirium is the anthropomorphic personification of insanity. She is semi-omniscient and probably will know anyone in camp who has some amount of.... lacking sanity. The way I like to say it is that when you brush against her realm you leave something behind. This is how she knows of people. What they leave ( Read more... )

People call Lina crazy, but she's really not. Uhh...she WILL be updated sometime soonish. Once she does feel free to notice that she's been possessed by pure Chaos before.

Zidane is ...incredibly sane! Someone tried to take his soul from him once, if that counts.

Is the pure Chaos thing related to the Lord of Nightmares? I'm really rusty on my Slayers canon.

That'd be her, yes!

Oh good! A Lina at another game of mine actually went through that recently, so it's a little fresh in my mind.

Dee, Lambo, Mokona, Mieu, and Momotaros are all sane and probably WOULDN'T be of notice. o/

Ikki is just crazy in that "I have A-T and I'm also a dumb shounen 'tard LET'S JUMP IN THE VOLCANO" type way.

Kenshin is . . . ahaha. HE'S GOTTEN PAST IT NOW since I'm taking him from the end of the manga, but. It's easier to say that he's got some sort of split personality thing going with his Battousai persona.

Goku has his true form, Seiten Taisei, who is crazy enough that he'll attack any and everyone because it's fun.

Oooh, Kenshin is one of my favorites (fave manga ever, fave character from it). I'll be on the lookout for him. She'd remember him and at least be polite and friendly if they ever talked. ♥

Tot went a little crazy after her (birth) father raped her. She's regressed mentally and acts far younger than she is; Yeah, she knows who she is and how old she is, but she's forced herself to start over when she couldn't handle it. o/ SHE IS STILL A LITTLE CRAZY she thinks, for instance, that murder is a game. Talking about either of those big events will drive bring out a homicidal rage.

Gohan has gone BERSERK before. Just... compeltely losing it and going apeshit and fucking people over and killing bad guys. He will do it again. He is aware of it and it okay with her mentioning it.

Ryomou has some bad MPD and can snap into a very psychotic mode. She's not right in the head. After saving Ryuubi's life, she earned herself one (1) dragon, located in her eye, and it's slowly killing her. She hasn't told anyone about the dragon, since it's sealed, but her emotional and mental instabilities are pretty obvious at times.

Ryoutarou is sane, but he does have four colorful men living in his head. His headspace is a rainbow of ( ... )

I'd like to know more about Ryoutarou and Tot. Should I head for Wiki, or do you have better resources?

NAH I can babble aimlessly. A good hunk of this is headcanon.

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Kyouno Nanami. Her mom died when she was young (probably), so it was just her and her father. KyounoPapa was a douche who raped his daughter (orz the canon). That messed her up in the head a bit. And then he died. Whether she snapped and killed him or he was brutally assassinated, I dunno. Either way, she went further into madness.

A mad scientist named Masafumi took her in and trained her to be his bodyguard. He was kind, protective, and sweet, and very nice! She called him "Papa" and ran around his mansion playing with small animals and acting like a four-year old rather than the fifteen-year old girl she was at the time. Yeah, she knows how old she is, but since she can't handle what happened, her mind regressed. She started over. She picked out or was given the codename Tot, and now she still calls herself that. It's the German word for "Dead," for the record ( ... )

Ayame is the sanest of all of mine. Not saying he's SANE. He's a Sohma. Exuberant, loud, and creative. His logic doesn't follow normal patterns.

Rhode. HAHAHAHAHAH, if she was ever suddenly sane, she'd just break. Her worldview is in a rather non lucid state. She RATIONALIZES and interacts on a sane level, how she thinks of situations, people, and even the world is NOT.

Akito/Agito/Rind. AHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah.

Onigiri. ... I wouldn't if I were you.

Vino/Claire: Baccano! is wonderfully, wonderfully open in regards to Claire. He could arrange situations to suit his insanity. His insanity may cause situations to ARRANGE THEMSELVES. Or most frighteningly.. he may be completely sane. Either way, he might interest Del in how the world works around him?

Of course, full permission to do whatever/mention anything with them. If you need more on any, I luvs me character babble.

On the more info side. Ayame has abandonment issues, very, very selective self worth and self image issues. (His worst fear is an empty room, and his mental image of himself varies from THE BEST EVER to a monster through and through) Progressively and healthily dealing with guilt and the effects of having been a self absorbed bastard and walking away from the people who needed him at the time. So far, not a GOOD person, but getting better, but sane, until you look at Ayame's way of looking at the world. It's incredibly egocentric. His mind is sharp and fast, and flits from idea to idea in a rather... non linear manner and can get from point A to B to N to D and CONCLUDE 4.1342! .. He's rather childlike in a lot of ways ( ... )

I kept meaning to finish Baccano! *laughs* And to get past ep 3 of DGM. Vino and Rhode sound like the two I'd like to learn more about the most. Should I head for Wiki or do you have essays and other resources?

There's small information snippets on both this journal and frombloodtowine though man, I really shouuuld essay. The Baccano! Wiki's been fair, no idea bout the DGM one. (Though if you're going to catch up on DGM, I recommend the manga, quicker and Rhode scenes are darker and more fun.)

Ranma has a cat in the back of his head that I'm sure Delirium would know and probably pet. Also, Takahashi character so not really all that sane in the first place.

Ami is perfectly sane.

Shiki is familiar very much with psychosis, thanks so much childhood traumas and Kohaku.

Oh wait you want functioning knowledge. Uh. Right.

Ranma when he was a youngin' was trained in a godmode martial art known as Cat Fist (Neko-Ken). This training involved his father wrapping him in fish products and tossing him repeatedly into a pit of starved cats. For days on end. He snapped, took on a cat persona, and mauled his daddy before running off to who-knows-where. ANYWAY he now has the most severe case of ailurophobia ever to hit the medical books and prolonged exposure to cats will snap him right into his feline persona. Which is godmode and a woobie, depending on how the cat sees people.

Shiki is kind of a basketcase for many reasons. His blood-relatives are all dead, his foster father mindwhammied him to forget about his childhood, and he shared brainspace/life capacity for a time with both an ancient evil vampire and his foster brother (who was the vampire's host). Oh, and his maid drugs him on a semi-regular basis (but not in camp yet). This has lead to but is not limited to: murder, assault, aggravated ( ... )

Thanks! I needed the refresher on Ranma, and Shiki sounds very intriguing. You can count on me researching Shiki quite a bit. 8D

No prob! Shiki usually gets my inner research bug going cause Nasu doesn't like simple stories or protagonists. Also oops I screwed up that last link. |D
