Understatement approaching lockjaw.

"I got you an early Christmas present."
"Work gloves! Neat!"
"I didn't know your size, so I had to guess. Try them on."
*puts on gloves, holds them up like a surgeon*
"Well, do they fit?"
"They fit like a--I was about to say something really dumb. Um, they fit well."

I haven't posted since this happened. I don't know, man. Some trees are really ( Read more... )

I kind of love tree stump coffee tables but they're too heavy for me to ever truly want one. Though I did see some coffee tables at this artist craft shop that were just a thin slice of ENORMOUS tree stumps, polished and lacquered somehow, and set atop some pretty metal legs. For some reason that sounds just as heavy. And I think it was over $1000 ( ... )

Wow, once you get to the point where you're specifically requesting for trees hit by lightning to be turned into showers, that's when you know you've made it. "We have the giant cedar trunk ready, Mr. Montiel." "Was it hit by lightning?" "Er, no..." "Then send it back. Jeez, you ask for a simple act of God and what do you get." But yeah, that sounds amazing. I've always wanted some sort of tree bed ever since seeing this. I wouldn't mind the pajamas, either.

*frames stuff with his fingers* Life is all about right angles to me.

My thoughts exactly. I did have to ask how they got it/found it and they claimed that they had a friend that worked as some kind of logger/forester/something and he saw it and knew they'd want to make a shower out of it. That's a true friend.

The bed is amazing. The pajamas seem like a lot of work, though. I'd be too excited to about them to wear them as pajamas anyway.

I've always wondered why trees can't be incorporated into architecture more often. After I wonder it, I usually come up with a handful of very good reasons, but still.

Yep, we messed that tree up. "You come into my neighborhood, fall on my garage..." But you never realize how many branches a tree has until you have to cut them all off.

I really liked the entire game's sense of presentation. The little card board figures are what really got me. And the pizza is just like Disney Dollars or Mickey Money or whatever the heck they call it. It's the game's monetizing item. You can use it for in-game purchases, but you don't need to buy anything to be able to finish the single player campaign or play multiplayer.

I like it (in an annoying way) when Melvin says "aww yeah". I really enjoyed the levels where they made fun of him.

But this game got into my head so bad. I was standing in line at the movie theater and it was a square tiled floor so, haha, completely involuntarily, I imagined myself playing a move card and then doing a five damage attack on the guy in front of me.

But yay, I'm glad you like the game. I've been trying to evangelize it, so it's nice to hear that I got someone else interested in it.

I have been glove-shopping lately for someone with, I guess, kind of small hands for a guy, they're the same size as mine, and I've discovered that NO ONE carries small-sized men's gloves. How can you have a medium without a small? So while reading your anecdote, all I could do was nod approvingly, thinking, "Good job having hands of a standard size, Jaime."

Thanks. It's a gift, really. I knew they were special, or rather, extraordinarily average, when I had the best, most proportional looking hand print turkey in all of second grade.

Sorry, I don't really have anything more insightful to say than this. Your glove story totally made me laugh.
