garlic!

Have planted significant amounts of garlic today. If it all grows, it will be great. Garlic bhajee, here I come!

Me too, me too! It was a good day for garlic-planting. I've been having problems with the birds digging up everything so my planting looks more like a fortress though - covered in bits of wire and stuff! :-)

heh, so far my birds have been pretty good - they do get excited when I dig though and sometimes end up sitting on your shoes.

We had a good garlic crop last year. Just planted out the next crop and hopefully we'll have enough to last between crops to have a constant supply of garlic. We put in italian red garlic, which has a lovely flavour.

Part of my crop was a NZ variety of the red garlic.

It being Matariki and the planting of garlic being seasonable, it all seemed like good timing.
