So Ethan may have a home store. That's good.
Where? In Manitowoc. That's an hour and a half north of here. That's problematic.
I have a strong line on a contract gig. That's good.
Where? Over the border into Illinois, About an hour south of here. That's problematic.
We're juggling logistics as we speak. This could get interesting. -
Rain, rain, go away...
We had a huge storm last night, like 8+ inches of rain in two hours kind of huge. A ginormous sinkhole opened up on the North/Oakland intersection, swallowed a car- fortunately the driver was rescued. Many Milwaukee homeowners are dealing with sewer backup into their basements (yuck)- portions of Milwaukee has a combined sanitary/storm sewer system ( Read more... ) -

It's warm out. And sticky. I wandered out to get some shopping done and came home dripping with sweat and thinking about another bath. Thankfully we now have central A/C, so hiding indoors is definitely an option ( Read more... ) -

The move itself went OK, with a few heart-clenching moments- I am extremely happy we got the movers on either end. If we’d not had professionals packing the truck, we’d have had to get a trailer to get everything in. boxes. definitely need more boxes.
The packing is progressing. I need to go to the liquor store when it opens at 9 AM and get more boxes. I also need to stop at the Goodwill and the food shelf with donations, but that might be a tomorrow trip. Tomorrow morning I'm going to a electronics recycling drop to get rid of three boxes of questionable computer components - Ramsey County does ( Read more... ) -

Today was my last day at BSCI. I got everything I said I'd do done.
My coworkers were sad to see me leave. It's flattering, and what I needed to hear right now.
Two days of comatose, then on to packing... -
...backing off
I took Friday off in an effort to Get Stuff Done. Part of that was to call and check in with the Potential Milwaukee Boss. They opted to go with another candidate. This is entirely cool with me. I admit to simple relief that I can simply work for the balance of April, take care of stuff in early May, enjoy Ethan's graduation and our trip to Canada ( Read more... ) -

Um, we may be moving sooner than I originally thought.
I've got a line on a fabulous job- catch is, they'd want me to start on April 19th.
That's three weeks earlier than I originally anticipated moving.
