Vespa lust
So I love my little scooter. But I think it is time to upgrade. I nearly got squashed in an intersection this morning (by an SUV running a red light) and I think a bigger machine would make me feel safe and more visible. On the road again
This time in the lovely exciting state of Ohio. I'm actually in Granville, which they claim is the most quaint New England-looking town in Ohio. Laura Bush was here last week promoting a woman who is running for office in another county, but they had the rally here because it would look cuter in the papers.

My birthday in Florence
I had the most incredible day... I woke up in my hotel in the San Lorenzo district of Florence and I went straight out to the Mercato Centrale di Firenze where I bought all kinds of wonderful food for a birthday picnic. Sole uno spa
So on Sunday I had the day off before going from Basel to Lugano, Switzerland. A friend had recommended that I go to this spa in Rheinfeld. It was so wonderful. I was the only tourist there, and I got by with my three words in German. It was the best authentic Swiss experience I could have asked for. Here is the link: Leave a comment
