I've got this book called 'the compassionate universe' by Eknath Easwaran that adresses issues relating to making big changes to yourself. The fact that you are willing to make changes is such a huge deal - quite a few people don't believe they have any issues to work out.

Anyway, this book is really about healing the environment, but it outlines a program of meditation and other eastern-ish things that I've been trying, and I find it's really helping me focus my anger into a productive force, and also pay attention to things better. I feel like I've got more control over my brain - well, just a slight bit more. It takes years to really get this stuff.

I'd loan it to you, if you're interested.
