No no, you did great :) That's exactly what this is supposed to do, make people think.

Oh but your solution doesn't work because "you're really interested in the job, don't mention your other job" they already know about the other job because the two managers are friends.

By the way, I do know the correct answer :) I'm just not going to say yet.

Have fun, I already gave you the answer :)

i liked your post mike, and i believe that 1.> life is 2% what happens to u, 98% what u choose to do about it; 2.> other people can't always be expected to believe the same things as we ourselves do; and 3.> the only good dishwasher is someone else.

No, what I meant was don't complain openly to the caterer guy about how you hate the other job...

You have fun too!

The more i read this the more my head hurts..so untill i can come up with a better solution, i'll go for this. Talk to the caterer manager person and tell them your situation. Granted by doing this you are taking the risk of them telling there friend manager what you are thinking about doing, but, if you truly are not pleased with the job your at, isn't better to go for the one you really want. If you end up with no jobs, then there is always other opportunities in life that will come your way. More dishwashers and more caterers. So thats my answer for now.

Stay with the first job until the the wedding dinner. Work through the dinner, then wait a week or so for excitement to calm down and go talk to the other manager. You'll be helping the first one who wanted to employ you in the first place (and repaying the favor by working the wedding), but then moving to what could make you happy afterwards.
