All Things Jonas (Target=Mew)
It's no great mystery that I'm a big fan of Mew. Not the Pokemon, but the Danish space-rock/dream pop band. In particular, I greatly enjoy the eerie, high-pitched voice of angel-faced singer Jonas (pronounced YO! nas), who not only writes beautiful lyrics, but also does amazing video and animations for the band's live showsI'm overjoyed to find ( Read more... ) -
Creativity Recovery

Skinny Puppy
I ain't got a lot of time to write in the details, but Skinny Puppy completely rocked my socks last night. Since the late 80s I've always managed to miss their shows (though I DID get to see [frontman] Nivek Ogre play solo a few years back). Why Beth Ditto Needs to DEVOUR Maja Ivarsson
Saturday Flannery and I went to see Shiny Toy Guns and The Sounds at the Warfield... and I hafta say that neither vocalist can sing at all. AT ALL! Not only could she not sing, but front woman Maja Ivarsson of The Sounds was trying a little too hard to be a "rock star." There was something ingenuine about her patter, posing and prancing.
