I came to the conclusion some time ago that for me at least, writing a journal or diary is something pretty pointless. I don't feel good when I read old entries, and often I actually feel embarrassed about some of the things I said. Where did the last month go?
Fuck knows! It's a good thing I guess. Quick update: Still no cigarettes since Jan 1st, have started going for walks again, work is manic, and i've not had a proper drink since God-knows when. Portuguese lessons going well, and might be doing some charity gig in memory of some guy who killed himself. That is all. -
London, Paris, Barcelona, Nottingham
It's been a great few weeks, albeit pretty tiring. So good in fact, that i'm still in the"afterglow", and not feeling too depressed and frustrated that it had to come to an end. Karma
It makes me laugh when people say that the universe must hate them, and "What did I do wrong in a previous incarnation to deserve this?" when clearly, they've done more than enough shit and harm in *this* incarnation to deserve whatever misery they are currently undergoing. Ha ha!

The resolutions
Twelve days in. So far, so good! Well, apart from the walking, but that's because it has been dangerous icy on the pavements, and I live in a pretty hilly area. Still, i'm feeling good, positive, not had any cigarettes since Jan 1st.
Only 12 days, but a good start I think. -
2010 resolutions
This year's resolutions.
Stop smoking, yet again. Yes, it was useful earlier in the year, it gave me something to focus on for a few minutes to distract me from the heartbreak I felt. Christmas etc.
So, here we are in the 'dead zone' between Christmas and New Year. It's been a nice break, but i'm back in the office today. However, it is very relaxed and i'm actually quite glad to be here.

Being friends with an ex.
I have often been amazed, and somewhat envious of people who can be friends with ex's. I mean, I can see how it is possible if what the couple had was never anything particularly serious. But, I wonder....can it ever really be possible if one party felt particularly aggrieved and hurt by what happened ( Read more... ) -

Recently, Maria has been having a lot of meetings in Rio. They have been with various people who she has told about her time in Nottingham, when she met with a Professor at the medical school here, who also has a spin-out company based here.
