This year the White Sox won the World Series. Good for them since I hate the Astros. Last year it was the Red Sox and this year it was the White Sox. Apparently baseball is still huge out here in Illinois. I thought everyone out here preferred the Cubs, but the Sox seem to be close enough. Every game night leading up to the series and during it I would hear the town burst into cheers, horns honking, fireworks going off, and lots of drunken hollaring. A month ago I was in a bar during a game and the entire place would cheer for each and every pitch. They're freaking nuts.
