No, I'm not referring to neve_regina's new niece (although she is very cute!) This is Geordie, a blue point Ragdoll and (hopefully) companion for Penny, who is very dependent and doesn't like having to spend most days all alone. My first attempt at oven-roasted capsicum is delicious!

I pranged the work car last week - not too seriously, and nothing important, ie) me or the driver of the other car, was bent, bruised or battered. I've just heard the first band line-up announcement for next year's East Coast Blues and Roots Festival on the radio, and the Dave Matthews Band is coming back! I'm not sure I can cope with the whole 5-day festival thing (at least, not unless I take a good friend with me this time), but they will undoubtedly be playing in Sydney and/or Melbourne ( Read more... )

My family is going to Sydney for Christmas this year, and my sister who lives there is organising the various festivities. Her mother-in-law, henceforth known as AM, who has no relatives in Australia apart from my sister's husband, is a very European lady. A good friend of mine died on Monday. Despite the fact that he had been fighting cancer for several years and was clearly approaching the end of the battle, it was still a bit sudden. He was making plans with my parents for dinner this week on Sunday evening, and in the small hours of Monday morning was rushed to hospital where he died some hours ( Read more... )
