*sigh* I am sad about us not getting through. I am still very proud of our boys. And I think they fought well. But the sole fact that we were SO CLOSE to getting through... I mean, the Americans scored against Algeria in like the last minute and with that got a point ahead of us. Oh, well. I think the better two teams went on to the next round to ( Read more... )

Glad we didn't spoil your party - but sorry the USA did.

You can go back to not being interested in football now though!

I've watched pretty much every game so far - big football fan :)

For a country with such a small population, it's an amazing achievement to have got into the finals and to have played so well against much more experienced teams. USA came top in the group but couldn't beat you, so you can feel very proud of that.

I personally don't think the USA should be allowed in the competition at all until they promise to permanently abandon use of the word 'soccer'.

Watching almost all the games takes a lot of time and dedication. :) I hope you have fun watching them. Who are you cheering on besides England? I'm hoping Gana gets as far as they can, so that at least one African team is in the competition for the locals to cheer for. And I am supporting Slovakia because they are a small Slavic nation. :) Also, the Netherlands, because I love how they fill the stands with orange. :P

You have a point there. (I am very happy Gana beat the US though. :D I am quite sure they'd have beaten us, too, if we'd have played them.)

Well, I prefer to say football as it's closer to fuzbal, which is the germanised word we like to say here instead of the proper slovenian word: nogomet). But they are entitled to call it anything they like. :)
