Can we please abolish this blort of doublespeak?), I found the subject matter of this piece fascinating. Not really for the whole "war effort" take on the project, but rather, for the way that something so simple addresses ( Read more... )

We have a laminated and rolled copy of it somewhere in the basement, incidentally. I used to have it over my desk when I worked for the educational catalog.

Yep. Got a new Northern Sun catalog in the mail yesterday, in fact!

I like this message. Not to tell you how to run your LJ, but is it purposely locked? This is the kind of thing more people need to read. (Not that the ones that really need to be told this stuff will get anything from it.)

That was a sweet (bittersweet?) article about the coupon clippers.

We have not been asked to sacrifice, which is wrong in so many ways, but we can always come up with ways to help. My assistant fire chief has a son in the Army. We voted some association funds and sent a couple huge boxes of basic medical supplies that the son had relayed were in short supply in Iraq. They snuck the boxes into all their stuff that was being sent over. (That may all sound strange but there are lots of bureaucratic issues that soldiers have to work around)

I like lots of stuff on your poster. One I will mention is buy local. I think that is a great thing to do and often go out of my way to do so. Sadly, it is getting harder and harder to do.
