The Young Bond series by Charlie Higson are very good. I've just finished the second book, Bloodfever, and I really enjoyed it. Classic adventure stories, really well written, and you don't have to like James Bond to read them. There are little knowing nods to the "future", but still very much kids books ( Read more... )

One Book.

And that took me forever to get started.

But it was a very good book once I got into it. The Reindeer People by Piers Vitebsky. All about reindeer herders in eastern Russia. A very good social/cultural study, and it made me want to herd reindeers :)

Or be an anthropologist ;)

As of Sunday 8th January 2006, 6.32pm, I have read, um, precisely 0 books. However, I have read about two thirds of the Exiles at Home by Hilary McKay.
