Long Term Threats to survival:
The End of the Universe - Heat Death of the Universe: No temperature gradients anywhere. Big Freeze: Things get too cold to support life, there being a lack of fuel to make stars, and everything eventually winds up in black holes. Big Rip: The continued acceleration of the cosmological constant tears up matter, ( Read more... )

I need to know some non-traceable ways of getting rid of a human body and any possible blood evidence of a violent death, though I can likely come up with ways to ensure a not so bloody death. So, what would be a quick, effecient way of destroying human matter and evidence? Any ideas?

Hmm. Thermite?

Hmm. I'll look into it and see if I can find a way to obtain it here locally that won't arouse suspicion. I should join the the science club and use a patsy. Thanks. Me go back to plotting now.

It's not hard. You need: Aluminium. Rust.
POwder both - well, not a Finee powder, a rough one. if the particle size is too high, it explodes...
Mix.
Pour over item in question.
Use Magnesium strip to ignite - be a long way away when you do this, I suggest.
It melts at the burning point of aluminium. Use enough of it, it should even burn the bones.
Of course, then you are left with a pool of molten iron...

Surely a greater short term threat to survival would be getting stabbed in the face by a junkie for the change in your pockets?

I hate to burst your bubble Douglas, but most of the above are likely unsolveable given our resources. They will only avoided by not being in the universe/galaxy/solar sytem/planet where they occur or they will simply be suffered through. Just because you can identify a dangerous phenomena doesn't mean you can do anything about it.

Maybe your brain time would be better spent thinking about immediate threats to our survival in terms of environmental or socio-political issues. There's no point thinking about longer term threats if the immediate problems kill you before they ever become an issue.
