It depends completely on how much you, and they, have changed in the time that's passed.

could be a minute, could be years, we all change constantly but I think the answer lies in your definition of knowing them.

My sister and I lost contact for almost ten years, but we did not lose our connection to each other. When she called me up out of the blue months ago it was as if no time had ever passed between us, but we had both changed a lot over the years apart.
