Having been sat at this screen since 8 this morning (it's Sunday this can't be right), I thought I would write something... It's been over a month now since I got back from Mongolia. The world's short hand for, 'the middle of nowhere.'

Fear of Puppets
I'm sure there's an official scientific name for it.
I watched the Dark Crystal far longer ago than I care to remember and it gave me my first proper, all-out, phobia-inducing, spook. For YEARS, every time I had to flush the loo I would flush it and RUN.
It didn't matter where; I just had to not be in the bathroom.

Dreamt I had a boyfriend last night
I'm still reeling.
He was a rather handsome devil (looked like a less obviously pretty version of Takeshi Kaneshiro), and cheeky with it.
We were going to a grand old red brick Victorian school that had been converted into a Buddhist retreat. It had a giant Buddha in it rather like the Mongolian one at Pitt-Rivers -

It's funny how the decision to do something is almost more exciting than the thought of doing it. I mean I really want to do this but more important is that I have started working towards it, started investing in something that will get me more involved in life generally not just in a particular event in the future.

They did the education system a great disservice converting Polytechnics into universities.
It implied that Poly's were not as good; that somehow you had to have the university tag to mean anything. It devalued the technical subjects and skills taught at polytechnics.
