i had forgotten how wonderful it is to sit inside on a rainy day and enjoy a bowl of hot soup while the water streams down your window.
well, okay. the water isn't really streaming down my window. it's barely drizzling, and in the pacific northwest we'd probably call this a nice day. but i'm in southern california now, so i take what i can get.

a person can only spend so many saturday nights cleaning their room and watching the audio commentary version of benny and joon. i think i either need to fall in love or go to africa.
no, i'm not going to africa to run away from solitary saturday nights. but it's a perk.

i didn't really know what to expect upon my return to the states, but i don't think i expected it to be this hard. my heart is heavy and restless in me. i keep dreaming about that last day of goodbyes, and my heart breaks again and again. i know God has me here right now, but is it supposed to be "here" like this?

the combination of a summer in costa rica and 2 corinthians 8-9 is a dangerously beautiful one. pray that God would give me the courage and conviction to live in response to the things i have seen and heard.
