Road Construction Logic

So this morning on my drive into Lincoln I was met by a perplexing issue of Road Construction Logic. The first sign I noted said "Right Lane Closed 1 Mile". After traveling 1/2 mile another sign "Right Lane Closed 1/2 Mile". I traveled a few more feet and see "Left Lane Closed 1/2 Mile". Wait, what? After a little mental confusion I decided

Nah - I-80 -- but I hear Highway 2 is a nightmare.
