How many times has someone on your friends list posted about something and you were really confused, but you didn't want to ask because you knew you SHOULD know
( Read more... )
I read what you wrote in Tamie's LJ about being raised Catholic and thinking that Judaism may be a better fit. Why? (I ask b/c I feel the same way but the other way around, raised Jewish, feel more of a connection with Catholicism...). If you don't want to post in LJ about this, I totally understand. I haven't yet posted about any of my religion stuff in LJ. :)
And if you want me to delete the question altogether, I will.
I don't mind posting, I think I have pretty open-minded friends on my FL:)
When my Dad died we had a lot of problems with his funeral & I really got disheartened with the church. I felt abandoned by the religion I had been raised in. I didn't come to the decision lightly though. Chip & I spent many, many, many nights on our back porch (pre-kids) drinking wine & discussing all this stuff. We were married in his family's Presbyterian Church because I really thought it was important to be married in a church in front of God, etc. etc. The judiasm thing is that I strongly believe in God & the old testmenent, but not always agree with the teachings of the new testement. So as far as organized religion goes, I gravitatate more towards the jewish way of thinking. Does that make sense?
Alli's middle name is Lyn after my Mom & MIL (convenient, huh?). Will is William (Chip's true name) & Edward after my Dad. #3 will have a family middle name too.
Ohmigosh, we had a huge fight a few weeks back about the stupid Easter brunch thing. Mainly we just have little arguments because we are just tired from dealing with the kids & all.
We met at work, although we never worked "together".
Yes, a PA girl. Grew up in the same County we live in now, I ven went to college at a PA state school.
No, I am not a lawyer. I am going to school to get a paralegal certificate so I can hopefully pick up some part time work & maybe full time once all the kid are in school.
It would be really hard for me to move away from my Mom & brothers, but I would consider it. When bank of America bought Fleet & we were both laid off we seriosuly cnsidered a move to Charlotte.
I just hope they are happy. Really, wahtever they choose for themselves & their lifestyle in the future I hope they enjoy it.
Ah, the big question. If it is a boy we are pretty set on Owen August (August was Chip's uncle who was his "father figure" growing up) . A girl we have no idea:) I love Molly but I think it is too close to Alli, Chip loves Maggie so that is an option. I like Kiera but can't get him on board. We have passed around Amanda & might possibly still use Kelsey (what Will would have been but my brother has since gotten a dog, named her Kelsey & given it to his ILs because it was too much work). So no girl name yet.
Yes, BOA is HQ in Charlotte, but they also have a huge office in Greensboro. Had both our jobs been reloacted to one of those places we may have made the move.
so, i just read others' questions and your answers, and it made me curious...are you going to raise your kids jewish? i'm fascinated b/c i'm jewish and DH is not, and we want zoe to know about judaism, but we aren't (technically) raising her jewish.
We don't have plans to raise our kids in any one religion but I hope they can make their own decisions about faith when they get older. That being said Alli is going to be attending a christian preschool in the fall:)
