I'm seriously missing my paid account right now. There simply aren't enough allowed icons on the plus account for my tastes.

Anyway...

So I was taking a look at the song list available for songs from the cinema this week and...( under the cut for mild spoilers )

From the way I understand it from last year, they can ask for other songs if they want them. The list is just songs that are definitely approved. Idol will try to get approval for other stuff. When Adam Lambert did Whole Lotta Love last year it wasn't on the pre-approved list.

Ahh...well, that's a lot better than. Because 50 songs isn't a lot if you consider how many have made it on movie soundtracks over the years. Plus, variety. I'd hate to think any of the contestants feel stifled because of the limited number of choices.

I'm really hoping Crystal picks something that's not on the list, and gets it approved. There just wasn't anything all that right for her on the pre-approved list.

yeah, the last couple weeks have not been good for Crystal at all.

But yeah, the list is just what they know for sure is approved. Anything else they have to go to whoever has the rights to it and get permission. I only know Whole Lotta Love wasn't because he's talked about them them telling him to have a second choice in mind because Led Zeppelin had never given permission for anything to be used before.

Well, I'm not sure I'd say that the past few weeks have been bad for her. They just haven't been as good as usual. Frankly, I liked most of her song last week (though the beginning part was a bit too slow and quiet for me). On the other hand, I wasn't impressed with her Shania Twain song at all. And during inspirational week, though I felt she sang the song well, I just didn't like the choice in general.

I want to see her get back to doing Joplin style stuff. She's got that amazing sound to her voice that just comes so naturally, so effortlessly.
