Kiska had a bit of a time yesterday at the vet. Poppa took her as I had to get ready for work and he reported that she was combative the whole way. No surprise there! At one point, as they were trying to draw blood, she reached back and dug her claws into the wall and left some good scratches! He Had to leave her there for a few hours though ( Read more... )

Sara's blood tests all came back normal. The fructosamine test that I brought her in for in the first place even came back excellent, so I guess her extra sluggishness is just old age. Kiska will still get her test on Saturday. I'm breathing a bit easier but I won't be totally relieved until that one comes back clean, too ( Read more... )

I'm finding it more disturbing as I research this. If you go to the Hills homepage you are greeted by multiple banners stating that you can "Feed With Confidence" because all their foods are gluten-free. Hit the link under News Updates for Monday and you get a different story:
