There has been a lot of discussion on my LJ friends list the past few days about kids' activities and the angst they can cause. I think I must be somewhat unusual. MOST of the time, I love that my kids are busy doing things they love and don't mind that it sucks up nearly all of my time because...well, I don't know what else to do with my time, I ( Read more... )

I do not love driving to be honest and am not all that great at it, but I like what driving does for me and since being in the car has now been highly correlated for me with quiet alone time or at least "listen to music and don't bug mommy" time, it makes driving palatable.

I really loved driving for a long time because of that correlation! Sometimes it's still good.

Until Luci quit screaming her head off in the car all the time, I did not make this correlation. Now it is one of the most peaceful places I can be. NOT TRUE when they were all toddlers/preschoolers.

Ananda got fierce headaches when she started reading - first I took her and got a vision test, but when it came back fine we went to the chiropractor. It turned out the downcast forward head posture of reading that she was suddenly constantly doing was causing them. He adjusted her and gave her some positional tips, and she hasn't had any more problems.

Maria gets regular adjustments by her uncle. I don't think this is a posture issue. She is slightly far sighted. Also...she just finds it painfuly boring to read. I know I get headaches when I have to concentrate for a long time on something so boring. I think a lot of it is just who she is. She is never going to be a "reader".

I fill my time like you do. I hate being home - my kids are playing and making a mess which stresses me out... or there is always work to be done, etc. If I take the kids out, we have fun - whether it's at gymnastics or swimming or taking them to an amusement park. I love filling my time.
