My husband has begun to complain about the monotony of breakfast (to which I pointed out that he really should be grateful to have a breakfast to complain about). But he is right, the rotating between pancakes, fried eggs, and muffins is wearing thin ( Read more... )

The problem with only toast or oatmeal is that they doesn't have enough fat or protein too keep my blood sugar up very long (two hours at the most), at least without the addition of ALOT of butter (this is because of my tendency - and the rest of the family's apparently - toward hypoglycemia).

Any clue about how to make good french toast?

And yes I would like the recipe for pancakes.

Yeah...umm...recipes and me don't get along too well...

I normally make sure to allow the piece to drain before putting it in the pan. Also, topping with a simple strawberry sauce (fresh/frozen strawberries heated together with a bit of water and sugar) is always nice.

Breakfast burritos are good too. Take scrambled eggs (with whatever you want to put in them) and put in tortilla with shredded cheese and salsa.

I think that I do four eggs and 3 tablespoons of milk approx. I merely dip both sides.

I've been eating lots of cereal and bananas for b-fast. Of course nothing beats bacon and sausages. Omlettes aren't that hard to make either. If you have a bunch of chopped up veggies and meats (sausage, bacon, ham, steak, pork chop) in the fridge you have already done all the prep. Do an egg scramble with all the stuff in there.....

always do the mexican thing (can you tell i've just been there, a little?) scramble up the eggs with whatever leftovers you had lsat night. add a little veggies, and voila! they also eat tortillas, and beans with every meal, so taquitos would be a good idea as well.

and you would be surprised how good beef can be in eggs. i was when i had in mexico!

i like making skillet potatos. i cut up a potato into pieces. usually end up about 1in square, 1/2in thick. i put em in a skillet with butter. i don't know the proper heat level to use, but i use high heat. and i just stir and flip em until they are fully cooked, sometimes adding more butter. i use a fork to cut to see if they are done(soft). can't remember how long it takes. afterwards i season them. i use salt and pepper or nature's seasons. other spices could be used. i eat them mixed with squambled eggs and cheese either in a bowl or on bread. meat can also be added ( ... )
