well, we are home from the beach and had an even better time than last year. we were right on the beach with direct access. we could take the kids down and then bring them back in for potty breaks and lunch on the deck (the lower deck, that is; not to be confused with the upper deck outside by bedroom..snicker)and then shoo them back onto the

So, basically, the kids go back to school for 2 days, then get the weekend to really consider the issue, then go back for a full week of school. That might not be a bad idea. Different from the full-scale frontal attack version of school here in Texas, where the kids go back in the summer heat of August, and usually start off the year with a full week, not a wimpy couple of days.
