That's two falls too many. What may have happened with your mom is something that I've read is quite common, she might have broken her hip, weakened by osteoporosis or paget's disease etc. and then fell. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Nods. In mom's case I suspect dizziness made her fall as her bone density has been good and she has had no joint issues. In fact prior to this a bunion was her only orthopedic problem and her in her mid 80s.

Oh how vile. I noticed you'd been quiet on LJ but assumed it was for nice reasons, prep for Xmas or something. But it's for very nasty reasons. Thank goddess that both your husband and your mother survived their falls. Now that your mother is in hospital I hope her recovery continues well.

Thank you. They have a welcoming attitude to family in both hospitals and I have spent the night on convertable recliner/beds in both of them now. I'm a firm believer in hospitalized patients needing an advocate with them but thankfully everything is going very smoothly.

I had to turn down an offer of MULCHED leaves because I was here. Sheesh, the sacrifices we make for our loved ones. Smiles.
