Troubadours, Trovadores, and Minnesingers, oh my!

Have you ever started to look into a specific subject, thinking things would be fairly simple to figure out, only to have your mind blown by how complicated it really is?

Ok, so maybe I'm simple minded. But I started looking into troubadour song and poetry. I already knew about the French tradition. I was delighted to find a Spanish/Portuguese

Yay!!! There's Italian, too -- the podestà-troubadours were often very political. :)
