That is definitely a crappy situation! I remember my parents spent ten grand on a new septic system for our house when the old one finally had failed. They had been told that the sewer project wouldn't be "for years down the line" and that our part of town was "phase four". Turned out that because we were near the schools, we became part of phase one! The new septic worked great and never had any issues for the sort couple of years it was in use. Sewers are nice but the quarterly bill we got in NJ, and the monthly bill Tom gets reminds us there is a price for everything. Oh, and as for the sewer project in Hopatcong, it went bankrupt after only being a quarter finished. Hopatcong is all mountains, solid rock.

I don’t expect we’ll see Town sewers up this way in my lifetime… but I said that about water, too, and here we are, hooked up to that.

Yes, 10G’s is my worst fear, but the company has not told me anything yet. It has to be done, and soon. :o(
