The end of a busy week

So, the septic system repair is complete (pictures below under the cut). As mentioned, I’m very impressed with the work done and the folks who did the job: very professional. The total, including the first company’s ‘inspection’ and determination that the tank was failing, was ~$8.5K. It’s done, and it shouldn’t be troublesome again in my lifetime ( Read more... )

The company did a great job! The landscaping is perfect! All that's left to hope for is the grass growing in spring. Houses, like vehicles are constant money vacuums! They require constant maintenance and some things are just painfully expensive to replace or repair. Hopefully now with the septic and the furnace fully repaired, you'll be in good shape for a while.

Oh, yeah, little bunny claws crossed! My retirement funds are fading ;o)

I was surprised by the attention to detail they put into the landscaping. The company that put in our water line left me with a rocky, sandy scar that still looks bad. And the septic guy even put his leftover loam in one of the nasty spaces over the water line.

Lil' bunny paws crossed... love it! *chuckles and ear-pats*
Does look good out there!

And b'golly, lookit alla that stuff on the furnace... wotta complex contraption! I dodn't think mine is quite as gadgety, but maybe all the stuff for mine is on the inside instead of external... dunno...

*hi-fives wing to paw* ... Here's hoping this/those/these things are the last big house hurdles for a very long time ^v^
Time to ring some celebratory bells! ;)

The septic folks did what I should have expected from a BBB+ family owned company, and it was the owner, and daughter, both among the crew.

The furnace looked like the Borg had assimilated it when the tech was finished. Old, grey boxes and components were replaced with updated shiny, black, digital readout controls that read out temps and running time (the latter when running) and I imagine allow the techs to see burner history stored somewhere.

*bunny hi-fives back to you* On to the next projects: may they all be small and manageable :o)
