He is cradling the rifle (shotgun?) carefully, and has it pointed downward at least ;o)

Yesyes! I was gonna say I could be the roo if you were the bunny! ...I would like a slightly toned-back color on the roo for me, a little more earthy tones than bright red :D

That Sears ad reminds me of the movie "A Christmas Story" which i watch every year during the Christmas season.
