Bear week in Ptown

It's a weeklong party. There is a culture of friendliness that people seem to love and to cultivate. Considering that my sexual attraction requires facial hair but then varies wildly after that, I was in eye candy heaven.

PS - For people who know people it's also very Romper Room Magic Mirror, as in, "I see Micheal and Thomas and I see Chuck and Roger and Sean. I see ...."

We couldn't find a reasonably priced place to rent for the week, so the Otter and I stayed home... maybe next year.

My brother is STILL talking about what he calls the "easy, happy affection" of bear week.

I think he's hooked.

That's exactly what I've been trying to explain to people - especially the people who go on about how "bear" is a meaningless, tired cliche with no value. If it can get people to coalesce around something like this, then it's still valid.

I've always kind of stuck to describing it as a group with more of a "come as you are" attitude rather than a specific set of physical characteristics.

I tire rather quickly of the people who do the label thing.
