I've been feeling blech for a few days, but overnight, it's turned into an "oh my god I feel like crap my head is going to explode from all the boogers I don't wanna go to work someone just shoot me can't I PLEASE go back to bed right now" cold. I wish Fred would bring flowers or candy or perfume back from his conferences instead of disease. I ( Read more... )

Be careful, you'd be better off being sick for one day and fighting it back than to end up in the hospital with pneumonia. This year's ague is particularly virulent.

I did find the new ersatz sudafeds to be effective. And they don't make me feel like someone plugged my neck into the electric outlet like the old ones did.

And yes, there are definitely better souvenir choices.

I've got some nyquil at home, so once I get off work, I plan to dope myself up heavily and sleep til I can't stand it anymore. The only problem with calling in sick, even for one day, is I'd need to call all the clients and cancel their appointments, since there's nobody available to cover my shifts right now. So, I'll take it as easy as I can, and just live with it.

Fred used to bring me the Brit Harry Potter books, but I've got them all now. Maybe he can get me the Brit HP audio books instead! :)

You need to find more staff so there's someone who can work for you. That's really poor planning. What would happen if there was an accident? I know there aren't a handful of hit and run deaths on your morning news every day, but really you wouldn't want to come out of a coma and have lost your spa.

I found the sudafeds made me functional during the day because I could breath without sniffling.

And I saw the other reply... yeah, I'd be really underwhelmed if I was sneezed upon. Ick.

I don't actually do the massages, etc. myself, so we're safe there. I answer the phones and book appointments and issue gift certificates.

And yes, it would be lovely to have someone fully trained, standing by, just in case I needed someone to cover my shifts. Unfortunately, I don't have the hours to give them now to make it worth their while. Very few people would be willing to put in the effort to train for a tough job unless they're fairly sure of getting a certain number of hours per week.

If things got terrible, I could ask Juicebox (Haley) to come in at 1:00 and cover until my regular night person came in, or if it was truly awful, I could just call the clients, call the therapists, reschedule everything for later and go home, but I handled it okay. Now I'm going to sleep.

I know it! All I wanted to do all day was sleep. Now I'm home thankfully, and am going to do just that. Sorry I can't come chat with you! *huggles*

Oh yay for cold-eeze! And I don't actually do the massages myself, so I don't have to worry about sharing my disease with clients. Thank you for the soup! I'll pretend it's tofu chicken, since I'm vegetarian. *loves*

Meep! Sorry. I shall send you a replacement bowl of Tomato Soup. (I love Tomato Soup anyway, and the warmth might be soothing for your throat)

I guess I was coughing in my sleep without realizing it. I haven't really been coughing while awake, but I have a stuffy nose, and generally feel kinda icky.

I hope you feel better soon. *hugs*
